Well, I must be doing something right in my teaching. I've been approached by several students taking other classes wanting to know if they can transfer into mine because they were told that I'm the best instructor for those classes! It's probably because I teach real world examples in addition to just lecturing from the textbooks.

Even my boss, the computer science department chair has asked if it would be OK to have some students just audit my class because they felt they wern't getting enough out of their existing session.

I set up a class C network natted to the outside world so my students can do things on their servers without it affecting the rest of the school network. I used a Cisco router and switch for the network.

I also encourage them to take the Cisco classes as one needs a lot of skills to be an effective network administrator. That and also the various Linux/Unix/Microsoft classes that make up the entire networking curriculum.

Once upon a time I took all of those classes and it's amazing how much of it comes back to you once you actually start using it. ;-)

Just wish I had started teaching 10 years ago instead of waiting until I semi-retired.

Hi, grew up as a child in tucson and used to play in the Z cars at the dealer on stone/grant. I see you have some nice z cars from AZ and wondered if you have ran across any originally from the tucson dealer?
